Terms of Service

These terms govern use of Civic Anchor by individuals, verifying institutions, and developers. A full legal draft is in review with our counsel ahead of GA; the operative positions below apply now. For questions contact legal@civicanchor.id.

  • AcceptanceBy accessing any Civic Anchor surface you agree to these terms. If you are integrating on behalf of an institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that institution.
  • Permitted useThe platform is for lawful identity verification only. Automated scraping, credential farming, and attempts to reverse-engineer biometric templates are prohibited and constitute a material breach.
  • Operator agreementsInstitutions accessing the verification API must execute a written Operator agreement (POPIA s55) before any enrollment. Partner onboarding is managed by partners@civicanchor.id.
  • Data subject rightsIndividuals retain full data subject rights under POPIA at all times. Civic Anchor will action rights requests within 30 days regardless of which institution initiated the original enrollment.
  • LiabilityCivic Anchor is not liable for decisions made by verifying institutions on the basis of a verification result. We warrant that the cryptographic record returned is accurate at the time of the ping; downstream employment, credit, or access decisions are the institution's sole responsibility.
  • Governing lawThese terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg.
